You’d think that the atmospheric system would just take a chill pill and calm down, but no. six days can feel like hell when you’ve been cooped up staring at the waves being blown onshore all day. What do you do when not surfing because either the wind is bad, the sand bank is bad, the currents are bad, the waves are bad, or because of the fact that you cant get a hold of a board to surf on?
There is no right answer, actually, I’d ideally say risk your life and surf, or skateboard ( I have all of three hours practice trying the latter). Truthfully I don’t really get around to skateboarding much, but I do get around to staring aimlessly out the window waiting for the slightest change in the wind direction, weather patterns exc.
Somehow I wish I could just divert the weather with my mind and make it a perfect offshore all day so that the surfers will all be at the beach, ill be able to use a board and surf… but no, whatever swirling vortex that going on up there is sabotaging my surfing, and I’m feeling anxious that ill have to go another week without being in the water.
Overall, its actually allowed me some time to dwell on my own personal life, and had left me with way to much time to pet the cats, so when the weather system does eventually decide to sort itself out, I will be back in that water failing at every attempt at a pop up and giving everyone something to laugh at.
Peace out,
from one super ratty newbie surfer girl.
